Communicable diseases are diseases that people get from someone or something else. Knowledge of the different types of common communicable diseases and their causes, symptoms, prevention and control strategies helps individuals to stay healthy. Learners acquire the decision making skills to help prevent transmission of such communicable diseases as well as health enhancing behaviours e.g not using the towel of a person who has conjunctivitis (red eye).
