Strand 2: Food and Nutrition for Health

This strand provides learners with knowledge about food and nutrition, how to make healthy food choices and what are good health practices. Learners learn about healthy eating patterns and behaviours, healthy foods for healthy growth, food groups, food hygiene and safety, making a healthy diet (using Solomon Is dietary guidelines) and healthy eating practices. The importance of regular physical activity is addressed to increase resistance to diseases and reduce the possibility of developing chronic diseases.
