This strand involves quantifying the attributes of objects, distances, and using appropriate units and instruments. It also involves predicting and calculating rates of change. This strand supports learners to use appropriate measuring equipment in real life situations. The use of standard metric units is developed.
Measurement and Geometry involves recognising and using the properties and symmetries of shapes and describing position and movement. It also includes angles, triangles, transformations and three dimensional shapes.
Time is included in this strand. Learners will be introduced to the calendar, units of time such as seconds, minutes, hours, weeks, months, years, decades and centuries. Time zones are also included to assist learners to understand how the Solomon Islands are part of global time.
